Our bass club, the Steel City BassMasters, founded in Granite City 1988, has been fishing the waters of Illinois, Missouri, and Kentucky for twenty two years.

We are proud to be affiliated with the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and the Illinois B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.  The Steel City BassMasters  generally conduct 12 to 13 tournaments per year throughout the months of March to November.  Every year the club hosts two "Invitational Tournaments" at Table Rock Lake.  These events are two-man team tournaments and any prospective member may participate without fishing with a current member of the club.  For more information regarding our Table Rock Tournaments click on the "Invitationals" link to the left.  We also invite guests to fish with our members in one non-open tournament of their choice.  We allow this so prospective members can get a feel for what the club is all about. Every member has the right to bring a different guest to each event. 

 In general, our club atmosphere is pretty relaxed, yet we are still competitive with tournament payouts going to the top four finishers at each event.  All individual tournament weights are recorded for credit toward the Angler of the Year title which is given to our top member at our annual awards meeting held each January.  The Top 25 Season Weights, Rookie Of The Year, Most Improved Angler, and Big Fish are also recognized at our awards meeting.

The shared appreciation for the outdoors and bass fishing in general makes for a genuinely good time. We try to balance overnight trips with close, one day events so that a member's club participation has less interference with his family or job. Our membership varies from retired individuals to high school students.

We conduct monthly winter meetings on Sunday afternoons at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Collinsville, IL. Otherwise, we meet at our tournament destination.
